For this year's cross country carnival, Somerville has invited all Old Girls to join students in running in their local area - in support of the MNDistance Challenge.
To register please:
✅ click: https://events.mndandme.com.au/…/13/the-mndistance-challenge and join 'Team Somey MND and Me' (if you can't run, you can still donate via this link!)
✅ Download the free Strava training app at https://strava.com or the App Store.
✅ Set up your profile - to identify as an Old Girl and your house, write your house name and OG at the end of your surname (eg. "Ann Smith" would write "Ann Smith-GilmoreOG")
✅ Once it's set up, click the blue initials icon in the top right corner of the screen, and select 'settings', then 'display preferences’. Change units and measurements to ‘kilometres’ and default sport to ‘running’. In ‘Privacy controls’, set profile page, activities and group activities to ‘followers’. Flyby to ‘no one’.
✅ On the top of your profile page, select 'explore' and 'clubs', then search and select ‘Somey Run@Home’. In the club page, ask to join. Once your request is approved, you will be ready to start recording your runs using your phone or linked device.
✅ You will receive a notification advising that your application has been received by Andre Sinclair (Director of Cross Country) - please accept the invitation.
Get running! 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
If you can't participate in the run, please consider donating to the efforts or sponsoring a student - Year 9 students Madelyn and Lily explain more in the video below.
