Congratulations to OG Tippah Dwan (Class of 2017) on her Outstanding Debut into the Super Netball playing for the Firebirds!

Congratulations OG Tippah Dwan (Class of 2017) on her Outstanding Debut performance for the Queensland Firebirds in the 2020 Super Netball season!

In an exciting first game of the season for the Firebirds Tippah Dawn demonstrated amazing form scoring 11 goals in her debut performance. While the Firebirds had a loss in their 1st August match up against Sunshine Coast Lightning, Gretel Bueta (Diamonds Ace) is backing Tippah as a rising star to have a break out season (featured in a recent article in online "The Australian"). Click here for LINK. An online subscription will be required in order to view the article. Gretel Bueta's recent pregnancy opened up the position in the Firebirds for Goal Attack Tippah Dwan and she will continue to act as Mentor for Tippah.

Tippah first played Netball while living in China at the age of 8. Her skills shone brightly while a Boarder at Somerville House. Both Tippah and her sister, Charlotte, were part of the Somerville House team that took out the QGSSSA (Queensland Girls Secondary Schools Sports Association) Premiership in 2016. The following year while in Year 12 Tippah was added to the extended Firebirds squad as a training partner. In 2018 she went on to Captain the Queensland Under 19 team. After two years in the extended team Tippah was named in the Queensland Firebirds team in 2019 but was unfortunately unable to play the season due to a broken foot in pre-season training.  While Covid19 placed a threat on what sport would be able to proceed this year we are so pleased to see Tippah realise her potential in 2020.

Congratulations Tippah on your amazing achievements! We look forward to watching your promising career unfold.

While Covid-19 has lead to many restrictions an exciting outcome for Queensland has been opening up the state to all six interstate teams to ensure that the 2020 Super Netball season can go ahead.  With so much talent at our doorstep it is a great opportunity to get along to a match and Cheer on OG Tippah Dwan and the Firebirds team mates.
