Somerville House Parents, Friends, Old Girls and Staff from across all year levels; Year 12 Students and partners; Class of 2020 and partners; are all invited to attend the 2021 Somerville House Ball.

In addition to wonderful food and entertainment, this gala event offers an unparalleled opportunity to join together and celebrate in true Somerville spirit.  So prepare to shake off the winter blues and get a table together with friends, members of your co-curricular group, or let us help place you at a table.

The Ball is proudly hosted by the Somerville House Parents and Friends Association, and supported by event sponsors Place Estate Agents, The Prop House and Allclear Print + Signs.

The Ball Raffle is being run by the P&F Tennis Support Group with tickets available on Trybooking, Flexischools and at the Ball.

Booking information

Tables 


Tables seat 10, with students and adults being seated separately.  Please organise groups of 10 or less and nominate a table captain.  The name of the table captain must be entered on the booking by everyone on that table.  Should you wish to be placed on a table of your daughter's year level, please indicate the year level as your table captain on your booking.  We make every attempt to accommodate all reasonable requests.
 

Confirmation / Tickets

 

Confirmation of your booking is via email from trybooking on completion of the booking process.  There are no tickets issued and you do not need to print your confirmation email.  Your table number will be printed on your name tag, available on the night at the registration tables.  Please allow time for registration by arriving no later than 7pm.

 

Grade 12 students attending without a parent

Please note Year 12 students must attend with a parent or a sponsor (another attending parent).  Girls will receive a sponsorship form via email. This form must be completed and returned for approval by the Principal by 11 August 2021.  Girls attending the ball without their parents are not placed on tables until they have submitted these completed forms.

Welcome to the Ball!  Please buy a Student ticket for yourself and your partner, which includes unlimited soft drinks.  Alcoholic beverages may be bought from the bar by those with Student tickets upon presentation of photo ID to BCEC staff.  Please familiarise yourself with the laws on alcohol supply if you intend to buy it.

If required, a partner can be paid for with name and any dietary requirements to be advised by email by 16 August 2021.  

What COVID protocols will be in place at the Ball?

The Ball will follow the requirements of the BCEC COVID-19 Event Operations Plan that is current at the time of the event. If strict restrictions are in place (i.e dancing restrictions) close to the Ball date, the P&F Ball Committee in conjunction with the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre and the school will consider options for the event including possible postponement.
