Congratulations OG Courtney Stewart (Class of 2005) - Appointed Artistic Director of La Boite
Congratulations to OG Courtney Stewart (Class of 2005) on her recent appointment as the new Artistic Director of La Boite commencing in July, 2022. Courtney describes a "deep existing connection to the company and the industry in Queensland" having studied at QUT and worked at La Boite including her professional stage debut in the 2017 La Boite production "Single Asian Female". In the years since Stewart has honed her talents as an artistic leader, diversity specialist and change maker, developing and directing works by artists as diverse as Kip Williams, Michelle Law, Kate Mulvany, Omar Musa, Saman Shad, and Katrina Irawati Graham. It is exciting to see Courtney return home to Brisbane from Sydney leaving her current role as Directing Associate at Sydney Theatre Company.
