Ann Thomson - Exhibition 'Change Takes Time' opening 3 March 2023
Mitchell Fine Art proudly presents an exhibition of Old Girl, Ann Thomson as she celebrates her 90th year. Ann has been at the forefront of the Australian art landscape for more than 50 years and is one of the incredible artistic alumni produced by Somerville House over the last century. Brisbane born but now Sydney based, Ann is a painter and sculptor known for her intriguing, expressive artworks.
Her importance as a visual artist cannot be overstated and her influence on generations of artists is evident. This incredibly important body of work was created predominantly during the 1970’s. Rarely available for either acquisition or viewing we are very privileged to be exhibiting these paintings and sculptures.
The exhibition will be officially opened by Chris Saines, Director of Queensland Art Gallery/ Gallery of Modern Art at 6pm on Friday the 3rd of March.
