The Fewings Building, Stained Glass Feature Panel – Design Input Opportunity

Principal Kim Kiepe announced at Commemoration Day 2021 that the former Senior School Building (later known as A Block), would be renamed The Fewings Building. The OGA wrote to Mrs Kiepe with this suggestion and she kindly put it forward with others, as part of the naming policy guidelines. We are delighted with this outcome – a most fitting way to honour Ms Eliza Fewings (our founder) with the oldest building constructed by the School.
As part of the Heritage Heart restoration and refurbishment project, The Fewings Building is being updated for contemporary learning, whilst respecting the distinctive architecture and heritage of this important building in our history. A stained glass window has been commissioned for above the entry (to replace the green window) and Mrs Kiepe will present suggestions from the School Community to the artist.
The OGA is calling for your design ideas and imagery suggestions! Link the past to the future!
Please send ideas or input to [email protected] by Friday 25 March 2022. Please note the size of the glass panel is 1336mm long x 852mm height.
When the artist has finalised options for the images, Mrs Kiepe plans to circulate those with the OGA, and consult a number of stakeholder groups for feedback.
Put your creative and heritage thinking caps on – all ideas are welcome!
