Dominique Layt (Class of 1987) - Leadership Book #2 Amazon Movers and Shakers

Published on September 19, 2022

Dominique Layt (Class of 1987) recently published a practical guide on leadership, for both new and existing leaders to help them be effective and build high performing teams. With three decades in the banking and finance sector at three ASX Top 20 companies, Dominique observed many leaders find themselves in leadership positions without knowing what's really expected of them. Many are promoted due to their exemplary technical competency, without the opportunity to develop their people-management skills.

Starting as a branch teller and working her way up to an executive management position in one of Queensland’s biggest banks, Dominique believes leaders must first understand how to follow, be open to adapt their approach, and not locked into techniques that no longer work in an ever-changing environment. With over thirty years' experience in leading teams and a Chartered Manager of the Institute of Managers and Leaders (global accreditation under Royal Charter for leadership), Dominique guides both new and experienced leaders to reflect on their weaknesses and develop their strengths. Her book weaves professional anecdotes with proven leadership strategies, and she aims to inspire all leaders, regardless of profession, to take their leadership skills to new heights.

Dominique is a current parent of Ashleigh (Year 5) and a Somerville House Foundation Director. Her book “Become a life-changing leader” is #2 on Amazon’s Movers and Shakers and can be purchased on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com.au/Become-Life-Changing-Leader-Successfully-Environment/dp/0645544809/ref=zg_bsnr_4893926051_sccl_42/357-1576700-0308524?pd_rd_i=0645544809&psc=1
