Vale - George Deeb (Past Parent)

It is with great sadness that the Deeb family announces that George William Deeb died peacefully, following a brief illness, surrounded by family on 4th May, 2023 in Brisbane. 

George lived life to the fullest in all aspects and was immensely proud of being a past parent (of Jennifer and Julianne Deeb during the Rev Seymour era) and holding a long-standing association with Somerville House via his wife of 64 years, Barbara Deeb (student during the 1940's). George and Barbara maintained their relationship with the school primarily through their love of travel with Isabel Bauer and other Somerville OG friends.

A memorial service to honour and celebrate his life will be held at St Mary’s Anglican Church, 455 Main Street, Kangaroo Point, Brisbane at 11am on 23 June 2023.

Representatives of Somerville House, or school alumni are welcome to attend and ask that instead of flowers, please consider donating to the Queensland Brain Institute via https://donations.uq.edu.au/.

Also, please note that there is limited parking at St Mary’s, however there is some street parking in Main Street, as well as on River Terrace and paid parking at St Vincents Hospital next door. For those with limited mobility, it may be easier to be dropped off at St Mary’s and then find parking.
